A commission for The House of Things, 2025
Tucked on the outskirts of Udaipur city, The Hot Cafe is a space by The House of Things, surrounded by mango and amla trees, wildflowers, bougainvillaea in full pink bloom — and the occasional leopard passing through. The Wild Orchard collection was drawn from that land.
The collection began with walking through it. Through the field, through the trees, through the light that settles over the orchard in the late afternoon. Inspiration collected slowly — the way it does when you're moving through something beautiful without rushing it.
It all found its way into the work; delicate brush strokes, a palette that is colourful but never loud, greens in every shade the field offers. The motifs are specific — the trees that grow there, the birds that visit, the bougainvillea that climbs without asking. Nothing invented. Everything found.
Ceramics, tableware, menu — all part of one continuous thought. Designed to feel like they've always been together, like the field they came from. The kind of table that makes you want to sit a little longer.
