The House of Things Collaboration, 2023
There is something about a garden that resists being contained — and that is exactly what this collaboration set out to capture. The Garden Scribble Sofa began with a print: hand-illustrated florals and foliage drawn in the spirit of journaling, where the hand moves freely and the garden finds its own language on the page.
The illustration — flowers, leaves, delicate blooms layered in a quiet, unhurried composition — was designed to carry the feeling of being outside into the rooms we live in. Not decorative in the obvious sense, but alive in the way a garden is. Calm and vital at once.
In collaboration with THOT, the print was translated into upholstery across a sofa form — available in multiple colourways, each one a different mood of the same garden. The result is a piece of furniture that doubles as an object of illustration; something that rewards a second look.
